Chooser

From "who's in?" to "see you Saturday."

Pick a date, find a time, divvy up the jobs. One link in the group chat, and the reply-all thread never starts. Nobody in your group needs an account, and nothing gets installed.

Three things you could make this week

Settle the date

A date chooser. Everyone taps the days they can do and you see the winner. Nobody asks "wait, which weekend?"

Pick the date

Find a time

A time chooser across a week. The hour everyone can make lights up on its own.

Find the time

Divvy up the jobs

A task chooser with a cap on each job: two on the kayaks, one driving the truck. First come, first claimed.

How a chooser goes

A river crew, a choir, a board, an office, a family reunion. Anything that needs twelve people to agree on something.

  1. Two minutes

    You make it

The question and the options: which Saturdays, which hours, which jobs and how many of each. You get one link to share.

  2. Over the next day

    They tap

Each person opens the link, types their name, and taps what works. On a sign-up sheet, that's "yes" or "available if you need me". No login, nothing to install.

  3. When you look

    You see it

The date that won, the hour that works, the roster with every job filled. Tick "email me when participants respond" and Chooser sends you a digest as answers come in.

  4. Next month

    Do it again

Clone any chooser from its link and change the dates. The crew already knows how this works.

What else is in there

Claim a Shift, in alpha. A semester's worth of shifts: workers ask for the ones they want and you approve, or let Chooser assign the roster. Alpha means it works and we are still watching it closely, so it keeps its badge until it has earned its keep.

Secure Vote. A secret ballot for your group, hidden even from you. It has its own page.

Engage. Polls, word clouds and whole sessions for a room live at Engage, the same app's other front door. One account opens both.

What it costs

Chooser is free, with no ads and no subscription. A free account gets you the email digests. Sending email is the one thing at Shatuga with a price: if you have Chooser send each person their own link by email instead of sharing one link yourself, that is $20 for 10,000 emails.

Shatuga is a very small company. Here's Mars, the person behind it, in case you want to put a face to the otter.

Start with the date. It takes about as long as reading this page did.
